Despite the ceasefire being implemented today and going into full effect, and with our teams busy returning home or checking on their homes with their families, we still wanted to make sure we contributed something meaningful today. One of our team members was returning to the upper northern areas... of Jabalia from Gaza City, so we decided to make the most of the opportunity by distributing cash aid with the liquidity we had left. We carefully prepared envelopes with the available liquidity and cash, and in total, we managed to distribute 25 envelopes, each containing 200 NIS. These funds were given to families making their way back, to offer them a small measure of relief as they began to rebuild their lives after the devastation. It was important to us that even on a day of transition like this, we continued to extend a helping hand to those who need it most. Haircuts in Jabalia: We were back at it again, free haircuts from our mobile barbershop! The Sameer Project treated 60 kids to haircuts at al-Falouga School in Jabalia. A small gesture with big impact as it improves confidence, boosts moral, and lets the children experience a bit of normalcy for the first time in months. With over crowded shelters and tents, hygiene often becomes an afterthought so by carrying out our mobile barbershop days we are able to return personal dignity and self care to many of these children. By setting up our own oven inside Jabalia Camp, we were able to bake fresh bread on-site and distribute it immediately to families in need. Unlike packaged food, this provided residents with warm, freshly made bread, which many had not eaten in months. Yesterday (10.02.2025), we baked and distributed 2,300 fresh loaves of sajj bread in Jabalia Camp. The destruction of bakeries, severe shortages of flour and fuel, and the ongoing blockade have made it almost impossible for families to access fresh bread. Starting today, we also opened another oven specialized in more nutritious and dense bread. We will share those results with you tomorrow. Each meal cost $17.85 with 10% commission so total of $2,678. Each meal of rice weighs 800 grams so it’s enough for 2-3 people. With the ongoing imposed famine by the military occupation, a few bites of food, and especially carbs, is very difficult to obtain.
