Our job is to listen to what Palestinians in Gaza are asking for, and to facilitate that help. In the Northern most regions, amidst the rubble and destruction, the first priority is water. Families cannot begin to even think about trying to repopulate the area if they don’t have this basic life necessity. Here, this man from Beit Lahia is pleading for water. He says, “If water exists, everything else will follow.” So what they are asking for is a chance, a chance at life. Support our North Campaign to provide water to the furthest points that we can reach in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and Jablia. Beit Lahia is in North Gaza, and Tal Al Dahab (hill of gold) is an area near the yellow line where almost no aid reaches. This is exactly why The Sameer Project goes and supports such areas! Donate: On December 17th, the Translating Falasteen (Translating Falasteen (Palestine)) x The Sameer Project distributed 135 pairs of shoes, in collaboration with Small Steps Project (Small Steps Project). Total cost was around $1,962, including 9% commission. The Sameer Project will continue to bring aid to Jabalia and Beit Lahia. Unfortunately Shujaiyah has been bombed several times, even outside of the yellow line. Even today several people were bombed and killed in Shujaiyah. Yesterday we delivered 80,000 liters across Gaza City, Jabalia, and Beit Lahia bringing out total to over 7 million liters delivered since our North campaign started in mid June. On the 28th of July we distributed 8,000 liters to Nakhil camp in Zawayde and 8,000 liters to Asqalan camp in Western Deir El Balah. The water desalinization plant where our team pumps half the water we deliver from was bombed tonight by the occupation forces. Read that again. Israel bombed one of the only remaining sources of water in the entire North. The plant in Al Tuffah is where most water that is supplied to eastern and central Gaza City comes from. It’s gone. Yesterday we delivered 86,000 liters of water. While we await morning to come for a full picture of the situation we know some things for certain: there will not be enough water for everyone, the price of water per liter will increase from the inability to produce it, and the number of diseases from drinking contaminated water will immediately rise.
