Gary Robertson has claimed that NHS Glasgow & Clyde admitted there was a causal link between the water system and some of the deaths at the Queen Elizabeth hospital. This is completely false. An on air apology and correction is needed at the earliest opportunity. The Health board admitted there was a causal link between contaminated water and some *infections*, not some deaths. BBC Scotland is completely out of control with this story now. It's so bad that presenters are making stuff up in order to lend weight to Unionist smears against John Swinney, Nicola Sturgeon and other SNP figures.

It is what sparked Mduduzi Masango, a member of the ANC, to go to Moses Mabhida stadium in Durban to demand clean water while the ANC was launching its election manifesto. The Mayor of Umkhanyakude, Siphile Mdaka, said they are laying a pipeline that will ensure the area is supplied with clean water.

According to the schedule, water only appears in taps once every three days, and even then it doesn’t reach every household, so water has to be delivered by tankers, with long queues forming for it. People use plastic bags as toilets, and this filth spreads everywhere. This is happening not only in Donetsk - water is supplied once every two days in a number of other cities, including Mariupol. This is how Russia 'liberated' Donbas. Why is this happening? In the past three and a half years - since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 - reservoirs in Donetsk Oblast have significantly dried up. The water supply system from the Siverskyi Donets River was destroyed. The region’s reservoirs and underground water sources are not enough to meet the needs of the population, in part due to the extensive network of coal mines. When the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR” were created in 2014, Ukraine did not cut off this water channel, as it was still supplying water to Mariupol, which remained under Ukrainian control. But at the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022, the situation changed: the Russian army, during its offensive, destroyed a unique hydraulic structure that had supplied the region’s largest cities with water. The Russian authorities decided to build a new canal - the Don–Donbas canal - which was supposed to begin in the Rostov-on-Don area. It soon became clear that the new water pipeline, first of all, could not provide the region with the necessary amount of water, and second, it was built with numerous violations, with a large portion of the budget embezzled during construction. Crimea is also suffering from a water shortage, and the situation is worsening. One of the reasons why Russia is striving to seize southern Ukraine is that it sees this as a way to "solve the water issue" for the occupied territories.

This is how bad and pathetic the water situation in Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare, has become. A borehole is being drilled on Kaguvi Street, outside HT Tyres. This is what corruption does to a country, central government controls everything in councils, resulting in this collapse. In cities like Harare, the need for boreholes reflects how corruption and central government interference have crippled local authorities, stripping them of the capacity to provide basic services. Boreholes in central business districts indicate that the municipal water supply system has failed. In a functioning city, clean and reliable piped water should be standard, particularly in central areas. Most of Harare, including the most affluent areas, does not receive piped water at all. The Water Act clearly states that Central Government (ZANUPF Government) should build dams! This has not been done due to rampant historic corruption. Harare and its dormitory towns rely on Lake Chivero, which was constructed by the colonial government in 1952 to provide clean drinking water for Harare and its surrounding areas, with a total population of 300,000 people. Today, it serves the Harare metropolitan area and satellite towns such as Chitungwiza, Epworth, Norton, and Ruwa with a total population of around 4.5 million people. The same lake that provides drinking water also receives untreated sewage. Residents have resorted to boreholes, sadly, something the last colonial ruler Ian Smith predicted would happen. How tragic that predictions once dismissed as racist have now come to pass.

NEW: Underwater IED detonated after it was found at an Alabama reservoir that is the sole drinking water source for about 350,000 people. The bomb was reportedly discovered during routine maintenance. Mobile Area Water and Sewer System (MAWSS) Director Bud McCrory says the discovery is "an unprecedented threat" to the drinking water. "We are fortunate that this device was discovered before it could cause serious damage to our water supply or harm to individuals," he said. The bomb is being described as a "grenade-type IED" and was detonated with help from personnel with the FBI Bomb Squad. MAWSS is currently investigating when and how the bomb got into the reservoir.
