BREAKING: A major flash-flood disaster has hit Nepal’s Rasuwa district, near the border with Tibet/China, after an event early Wednesday morning caused catastrophic flooding along the Trishuli and Bhotekoshi river systems. Authorities are warning that the danger may not be over. A blockage remains upstream on the Lhende Khola, raising the possibility of another major flood. Nepali and Chinese authorities are conducting rescue operations, with 574 Chinese rescuers deployed to the affected border crossing. India and South Korea are also coordinating assistance. Rescue helicopters have so far been unable to land in some areas because of the flooding and debris.

It is ver heartbreaking. 💔💔😭. Students from the Technical University had set out for Ahero to attend the burial of their fellow student and former student leader, BEAST. Sadly, their journey ended in tragedy. They were involved in a devastating road accident near Ahero, Kisumu where at least five people lost their lives at the scene after sustaining severe injuries. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, and we pray for strength during this difficult time. Full recovery to those who were injured🙏💔😢.

He recalls that a mela, or local fair, was taking place in the area when the floods struck, drawing a huge crowd of people.
