the time limit is the part i'm curious about. does it make side quests feel like real choices, or make you afraid to explore and miss things? freedom + a ticking clock sounds like a hard balance to get right

Is the time mechanic similar to dead rising? I love it and wish more games had it

Watch the full extraordinary war of words between Fabian Hürzeler vs. Mikel Arteta after Arsenal beat Brighton 1-0. 🧂 Hürzeler: “There are different kinds of winning. So if they win the Premier League, no one will ask how they win the Premier League. I think you can really feel that. They do everything now to win this game and in the end it's about the rules. “So if the Premier League is the referee's decision, then it's difficult. They [Arsenal] make their own rules. At the moment, I have the feeling they are doing their own rules no matter how they are playing. So that's why I think it's difficult to judge that. “Overall, like I said, I will never be that kind of manager who tries to win in that way. I want to do well as players. I want my players to keep improving and keep playing football on the pitch. “In the end, of course, every team will manage and waste time but I think there has to be a limit and the limit has to be set by the Premier League. The limit has to be set by the referees. At the moment, they just can do what they want. “We will get the statistics for that. I made my point before the game and I stick to it and everyone else can judge it on his own. I'm not sure if I would ask now, everyone here in the room. Did he really enjoy this football game? “I'm sure maybe one raises his arm because he's a big Arsenal fan. But beside that, no chance. So that's why, again, it's just a repetition. We waste too much time about talking about Arsenal and their game.” Arteta responded: “What a surprise…” “Just go back for the previous games and you will find a lot of comments like this always. “I love my players, that's the highlight. I love my players, we love our players and I love the way we compete.“

My honest impressions for The Blood Of Dawnwalker are ready. Bookmark it so you can return to it. 📌 I know you're in a hurry. So here's the TLDR: The game is a strong narrative piece so far. I'd describe it as a mature story with a focus on consequences. The time mechanic is very cool and does not hinder gameplay at all. In fact, it adds a really fun twist to the gameplay and makes you genuinely care about the people around you because your actions directly impact them. The villain is not afraid to be straight-up evil. How refreshing! You're in for a thrilling prologue where you learn the fundamentals of the game and see a reflection of the themes and writing the game has in store for us. Still here? Enjoy the rest of the impressions then: Characters make mistakes, and some are even self-conscious about their personal flaws! So refreshingly well written. I love it when characters are this believable. I really love Anca so far and to find out she was voiced by Nightsong from Baldur's Gate 3 was a great surprise. Brencis is also fantastic. The voice acting is also so well done. Everything was perfect here. Laslea is dreadful with a heavy atmosphere. It reminded me of From Town (From TV Show) because of the normalcy people try to keep to to despite their predicament. It is genuinely horrifying to picture yourself living as cattle for Brencis and his clan. The story so far is easy to follow. The pacing in the prologue was great. The build-up to Brencis was well done and his interest in Coen is fascinating. I think it's funny how he's kind of obsessed with Coen. THANK YOU REBELWOLVES for having a villain who's straight up evi... a HERO. He removed taxes and hard labour, what a legend. All he asked for in return was a pint of blood. The gameplay feels like an evolution of The Witcher 3 formula. The combat, however, is closer to a Kingdom Come game. I personally liked it because it offers a fun system where you can perfect parry and do cool duels with multiple enemies. Vampirism changes it all up and offers unique traversal mechanics on top. Some actions can only be done during daytime whereas some other actions require you to be a vampire. Still talking gameplay here: the time mechanic is fascinating. Not the first time it's been done but for this game specifically, it makes sense and it adds so many stakes to EVERY quest. There was an old lady I wanted to help but I didn't make it in time because I prioritized my mum so she suffered a harsh consequence... That said, only some quests are time sensitive. You can still do a ton of quests that don't advance time. The soundtrack... What can I say here? Rebelwolves cooked. It's a treasure. Visuals are beautiful. The materials, character models and especially the clothing are all made with great attention to detail. And the eyes are so beautiful too. Performance: Unlike what some others are reporting though I had a very smooth gameplay experience with zero stutters. That said, it's an Unreal Engine 5 game so the better your hardware the better your experience so I don't speak for all. Let us know how your experience is with the game so far. Other notes: if you're a Witcher fan, this is a must play for you. Also, Mirto's haircut is funny.

One criticism I always see towards games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto VI recently is the topic of small details. "Why does a game need so many details, it doesn't make the experience any better and takes longer to develop" While I do agree with the fact that Rockstar Games development schedules in between each release keep getting longer, the fact is that when you aim for such a high level of realism in a video-game, its not about graphics anymore, its about immersion. I'm sure that if you played RDR2, you know that your horse sweating or its balls shrinking in the cold don't add much to the gameplay itself, but it makes the game feel like its real. This is precisely what sets apart Rockstar Games from other game studios, the level of immersion you get in those games is unbeaten. RDR2, a game designed for the PS4 console has a level of fluidity and immersion that I have yet to see in a video-game from any other game studio, each game mechanic seems to work flawlessly that it feels like a living and breathing open world game. Hell, sometimes you feel bad for shooting an NPC which never happened to me in a video-game before. When you're playing it, hours can go by and you don't even. In other open-world games, sometimes you can notice limitations, for example the same NPCs appearing in one object or the same scripted conversations. RDR2 manages to make that gap of a video-game and reality feel thinner, not get rid of it entirely of course. Making such a massive game filled with tons of details means that it can be can be played for multiple years after its release and not feel outdated. Its not all about details of course, when a game takes so long to develop, the stakes get higher each time and Rockstar Games has to make sure that they deliver on the story that is being told too, hence the reason why their games have always been historically good in terms of writing. Now to address the elephant int he room, the main issue is that as the complexity increases for each new release and optimizing all of these systems to work in tandem, the development time increases and we get longer periods of waiting. Is all of this worth it? In my opinion, yes. Its Rockstar Games after all, they have the budget necessary and the talent to achieve this kind of feat. Not only does it raise the bar for what is possible to do in a video-game, but it also is highly rewarding when you play the game for the first time and its unlike anything you've seen these past couple of years. When I finished playing Red Dead Redemption 2 for the first time, every new game that came out felt outdated for me. Just as technology keeps going forward, the same applies here with open world games too. What are your thoughts on this topic?

Marvel Wolverine First Impressions [SPOILER FREE] The Good: > The game is visually stunning, I've been playing it on a PS5 Pro with VRR uncapped and the game looks incredible. Character models and environments are highly detailed, combined with beautiful lighting and gorgeous Ray Traced reflections. Most importantly the game manages to have a consistent framerate at a high resolution with no noticeable performance dips > Traversal; Coming from Spider-Man games, I know some people had doubts on how Insomniac would approach Wolverine but I'm glad to say that it has been incredibly fun and intuitive to traverse. Climbing buildings, trees and jumping like an beast is quite fun. Traversal is fast and quite easy to learn, it reminds me a lot of Assassins Creed games but it is much faster > Blood and Gore; Insomniac Games didn't hold back when it comes to this and its incredible, you get hooked instantly as soon as you start fighting enemies and the finishers are awesome especially when you reach the RAGE 3 tier, it is quite literally the same as "Spartan Rage" from God of War games. > The game is also very polished, I have experienced zero bugs or game crashes so far, which is to be expected from Insomniac Games as their PlayStation ports have always shipped with little to no issues > Cutscenes are top-tier and the action sequences are a work of art. The actor who plays Logan does a phenomenal job and I'm really enjoying his character so far, I can't wait to experience how his story unfolds and I'll share my conclusive thoughts when I finish the game Mixed feelings: > Combat sections; As much as I enjoyed playing as Wolverine and the combat too, it did get overwhelming at one point. You move from point A to point B and the game throws a ton of enemies at you, once you're done with them you move to section C where there a lot of enemies again that you can take out using stealth mode... until you get discovered and its the same thing again. I don't want to sound like I'm nitpicking but I feel like at one point, the game becomes too repetetive. The bad: > Game clues; You've probably seen the "fart-gas" memes by now and I won't go deeper into this other than Insomniac Games has been doing too much to keep the players attention to move forward, as soon as I start exploring other areas in-game, Logan will say to himself something like "I gotta focus on the mission" and it becomes irritating because its a linear game and with these kind of games, I like to take my time especially when the game is not that lengthy. It doesn't end with the sense of smell and Logan dropping hints too, Insomniac takes it a step further by adding more white paint and blue radio boxes just to make sure that you'll find everything as they wanted to instead of giving the players freedom find these items. I really wish there was an option to disable these hints, in fact I don't think the blue scent will ever be removed because Logan is always detecting it and sniffing so it is deeply imbedded in the game as a core mechanic.

Scottie Scheffler was asked ahead of the BMW Championship his thoughts on the new changes coming on the PGA Tour and whether he’d like to see any of the LIV players back. On the incoming changes, he said: “Getting the best players competing against each other more often is what we want as players. I assume, you guys in the media, that’s what you’d want to see. I assume that’s what the fans want as well and I think that’s the direction that we’re heading. “Making things a bit simpler in terms of who’s going to be at what tournament at what time. Golf has always been a difficult game to rank when you’re not playing head to head, and so getting the best players playing head to head more often than not in a proper tournament is, I think, the best way to do things.” He then was asked whether he’d like to see the PGA Tour offering LIV Golf players the same opportunity to return that was given to Brooks Koepka earlier this year: “Yeah, I think, when we talk about the best players, LIV has a few players that are really good. I think, the depth that we have on our tour is unmatched, but when you look at higher levels of LIV Golf there are definitely players that would provide a value to the tour and guys that I love competing against as well. “So I think going forwards there obviously has to be some kind of penalties. What they are, I’ll let Rolapp and all those guys figure it out. We have great leadership within the tour now. “But I think having those guys coming back and competing, whatever happens with LIV, whether those guys want to leave, you’ve got to ask them. But for me being able to compete against the best players in the world, there’s definitely some guys that can compete out here and I look forward to the chance of being able to compete with them more often.” PGA Tour BMW Championship
