In fact, I stated in my own words that the SAPS owes General Khan for what he did, because he stopped police officers who had come to collect drugs under the authority of the then head of traffic routing.” Gen Mkhwanazi’s testimony at the Madlanga Commission regarding General Khan. Lt Gen Mkhwanazi did not make any substantive allegations about General Khan during the 6 July conference, nor did he link him to any political parties. As such, it was mischievous to do so in his latest testimony. At the initial stage of scheduling witnesses, there was nothing substantial that would have warranted the Committee to call General Khan. A new merged registration interview aims to speed up asylum decisions by combining stages of the application process into a single interview for many new claimants. The Government says the changes will reduce delays and tackle the asylum backlog. But I’m now seeing a number of immigration lawyers like Fraz Ahmed appearing on social media criticising the changes and warning their client base.
