Their bail application was meant to be heard today, but because of outstanding matters and issues it’s been moved to Thursday. The two are facing three chargers, attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice & pointing a firearm. Bail Hearing for Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni Postponed to Monday The bail application of controversial businessman Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni and three co-accused has been postponed to Monday after lawyers pushed for the hearing to continue late into the night at the Kwaggafontein Magistrate's Court on Friday. Sibanyoni's legal team argued that the matter should proceed without delay, citing the prosecutor's late arrival at around 11am. They contended it would be unfair for the accused to remain in custody over the weekend if the hearing could not be completed. Sibanyoni is applying for bail alongside his alleged right-hand man Bafana Sindane, Daniel Msiza, and Philemon Makhaya. Vaal taxi driver appears in court over 14 learner deaths, abandons bail application Twenty-two-year-old Ayanda Dludla appeared this morning in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court in connection with the deadly Vaal scholar transport crash that claimed 14 learners’ lives. Dludla, the driver of the minibus taxi involved, faces 14 counts of culpable homicide, three counts of attempted murder, and charges of reckless and negligent driving as well as driving without proper documentation. He was apprehended after being discharged from hospital and is represented by Legal Aid. [SANGOMA APPEARS IN COURT FOR PREMEDITATED MURDER] A Lesotho National Sangoma, Sebokoana Khounyana (50), appeared at the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates’ Court on charges of premeditated murder and Human trafficking of a 02-year-old baby Kutlwano Shalaba. A charge of premeditated murder was added against the mother Keneilwe Portia Shalaba (32), who was previously facing charges of human trafficking, conspiracy to commit robbery and making a false statement to the police. It is alleged that on 10 November 2024, the mother of the child took the child to the sangoma and requested him to kill her child because she was not happy with the gender of the baby and was tired of hiding it from her family that in fact, the child was a girl. The mother then allegedly fed the baby poison and after the baby died it is alleged that the two took the child and buried her body in a shallow grave in Waterpan After investigations by the police, the sangoma was arrested on 29 May 2025 and he subsequently made a confession and pointed out to the police about where the body of the child was buried. In court, the matter was postponed to 05 June 2025, for legal representation for the sangoma. The state intends to oppose his release on bail. The court previously denied the mother's release on bail.
