As many of you know, for the last five months I've been working full-time on my next big thing. The challenge was to invent something new and implement it entirely using LLMs for writing code. The first stage of the project is now complete: the web application, which I called is now online and accepting users. You can see a short demo in the video. 100% of the code of the app was generated by LLMs (mostly Gemini and Claude, maybe 10% of ChatGPT). I haven't written a single line of code. The tech stack is TypeScript, React, and Supabase/Postgres which was (and still is) fully new to me. During these five months, I implemented from scratch three versions of the software. It started as a Markdown editor to help me with my book writing and ended up as an AI-assisted reading and self-learning platform. What makes ChapterPal unique is a novel reading experience where the user can use the keyboard keys to reveal or "unreveal" the content and ask questions at any moment. (Mouse wheel, touchpad, smartphone screen, and voice input are also supported.) The LLM receives the entire content of the chapter and tries to answer questions based on the chapter's content, which reduces the chance of hallucination to the minimum. (Though not to 0%, of course, but near it.) This way of content consumption is known as **active reading,** a strategy for engaging with a text to improve comprehension and retention by consciously interacting with the material. The goal is to move beyond passive reading to a deeper understanding of the text and to remember key information more effectively. The registration on ChapterPal is via the waiting list. This is to avoid unexpected load spikes and cloud charges. Usually, it takes less than 24 hours for me to activate a user. Give it a try and let me know what you think. The next stage is finishing the content ingestion pipeline, which will automatically convert high-quality content from sources like HTML, PDF, and LaTeX into Markdown. Obviously, only those pieces whose licenses allow creating copies. ChapterPal has its own collection of textbooks and articles on AI, machine learning, and data science topics. If you don't find a piece of content you would like to read in ChapterPal's collection, a Chrome extension, ChapterPal Uploader, allows you to upload any PDF or HTML page to ChapterPal in one click. The process is easy peasy. The UI is simple, but effective. It asks you for... 1. Role & Purpose 2. Voice & Style 3. Behavior 4. Rules 5. Tags 6. Avatar image 7. Welcome text. 8. Test drive before publication. ... and that's about it. This free version lets you have at most 3 agents, I am told. This implies that there is also a paid version. I'm all for it, because it sounds to me like VeChain is ready to do real business! I am providing feedback to Jérôme Grillères in order to help improve VeChain's AI agent marketplace. I didn't have to set up anything. The web UI is all I needed! The agent is running on Claude Sonnet 3.7. I did not have to provide a Claude API key. We seem to be riding along on VeChain's. I hope there'll be a choice for more models, including ChatGPT, in the future. This is so user friendly, that I can easily imagine that this would take off in a big, big way. I'm definitely building on this, when it goes into production with full features. Even if my own AI agents aren't successful, then I'm sure others' will be. A closer look on the GSAP powered animations in Webflow. Just from my perspective. In short, it’s way more powerful than I first thought. The more I use it, the more I like it. Of course, there are some parts missing. But it's the first version. There's still a lot to come. For example, custom ease would already make a huge difference. Breakpoints. Maybe a way to add custom functions as sometimes you need to calculate stuff in JavaScript to get complex animations. The biggest part for me is that you can just build the animation inside a timeline. This makes it so much easier than writing it as code. You can fine tune it so much more. When there would be a way to export the tween as code to add some more functionality would be awesome. You can also add custom classes with the timeline, which can then be used in custom CSS to add more functionality. With a bit of custom code you can also use breakpoints for your animations. By using the custom event the animation can be used in custom code which can also be pretty powerful. Didn’t test it so much yet, but would be cool if you could just take the event and use for example the onComplete() from GSAP or other stuff. Here’s what you need to know: In 3 words: Speed, stability, dynamism ✔ Speed: This new version allows you to animate an image in a few seconds, much faster than previous versions. ✔ Stability: Until now, Vidu was way too dynamic, and we had very little control over it, making storytelling particularly complicated. This version is extremely stable, allowing you to create stories easily. ✔ Image Style Fidelity: This version is extremely faithful to your image styles, something the previous version of Vidu had a lot of trouble with, as it always tried to change the appearance and texture of characters. This version perfectly retains the image style! For example, at 00:19. ✔ Transitions: The transitions have been greatly improved; they are also very stable! At 00:16, you have examples of transitions. It's also a big step forward! ✔ Better Prompt Understanding: Another excellent thing for storytelling! ✔ I also note Vidu 2.0's ability to identify tiny characters and animate them dynamically, which is really great!! This version is extremely stable, allowing you to create stories easily. ✔ Image Style Fidelity: This version is extremely faithful to your image styles, something the previous version of Vidu had a lot of trouble with, as it always tried to change the appearance and texture of characters. This version perfectly retains the image style! For example, at 00:19. ✔ Transitions: The transitions have been greatly improved; they are also very stable! At 00:16, you have examples of transitions. It's also a big step forward! ✔ Better Prompt Understanding: Another excellent thing for storytelling! ✔ I also note Vidu 2.0's ability to identify tiny characters and animate them dynamically, which is really great!! This is on my heart this morning by the grace of God. This is a trend on social media, where the YNs are trading in their nike techs for quarter zips. This is a bright spot in an abyss of endless negative news and content right now. A few things... 1st, I hope this really sticks and doesn't pass like most trends. 2nd, it's sad that we (Black people) associate being dressed nice and sophisticated with White people or White culture. But then again for along time in this country the majority of both cultures have been separated by these type of cultural differences. Seedance 2.0 vs. Seedance 2.0 Mini Actually, I tested this directly in Dreamina. It's already available on my account, but it seems Dreamina hasn't announced it on their social media yet 😆 Anyway, here are my first impressions. Basically, it's not bad... not bad at all. However, when I tested it with something more action-oriented, the difference was huge. It depends on your goal, but I don't think I'll use Seedance 2.0 Mini for action-heavy prompts. I could be wrong though, and I need to do more testing. For something that looks simpler and more natural, Seedance 2.0 Mini is surprisingly good. You can still notice some glitches or artifacts from time to time, but overall it's pretty decent. It's definitely not worse than the current version of Grok Imagine Video 😂😂In fact, this is what Grok Imagine should be. They're almost there but Instead, they're going backwards. I think only Tetsuo and Freeze keep saying Grok Imagine is the best model in the world LMAO 🤣🤣🤣 Still, I think Seedance 2.0 Mini delivers exactly what it promises. It's cheaper, faster, although it comes with a slight sacrifice in quality (well obviously it's a mini version of it), although not as much as I expected based on my initial tests. I think in the end, you need to identify your needs and decide when to use Mini, when to use Fast, and when to use the full version. The Text Me Back script is finished! 🥳🎉 This is probably the biggest achievement of my life. I have been through so much over the past year, and especially the last three months haven't been easy. But I kept pushing through even when it hurt because when you do, you make sure that one day it'll get easier. I'm so proud of this script. I've been writing novels and screenplays since I was a young teen, on and off, some years more off than on, but I've always kinda felt that my execution didn't live up to my ambitions. But this time, it's everything I wanted it to be and more. In fact, I'll say that it's better than I ever thought it could be. Of course, that's my extremely biased opinion, but I hope that you'll enjoy it just as much as I've enjoyed writing it. Well, that depends on the execution of the actual gameplay too, but I'm confident. I always say that if somebody else can do something, so can I. So, since the first Life is Strange is pretty close to what I want to do gameplay-wise, it's already been done. There's proof it's possible, and so it will be possible for me too. Now, I'll spend the next few weeks polishing the final episode. There are still some things I'm not fully satisfied with. Episode 5 is still a first draft. (I'll also share the final word count at that time. I'm a sucker for word counts.) So, after a couple of weeks, I'll finally start really getting into making the demo, and hopefully, this page will get more interesting as I can start to show things. Don't expect the world right away, but it'll get more and more exciting as we go. I promise. Thanks to all of you for sticking with me through this long writing process! PS: For the voice actors: I'll start sending out the full, finished scripts by the end of July. If your current artwork fits within our TOS, go ahead and start selling your works now on JFF. If you aren’t sure, we hope to have clarity around our TOS this week, so please be patient as we get that done. Folks, this is Phase I, and we’ve done this all since Friday to try to help the NSFW artists in our community. There will be more phases as we see what is needed. We are doing our best, so if something you want isn’t there yet, send a note to customer service and help us build this area out on the site over time.
