Looks great! 👀 Can I ask what tools you use to create these shorts with captions?

Thanks :> I use Unity's native recorder and then Capcut for editing/voice and text!

Using a 3D render pipeline makes depth sorting so much easier. I'm so stubborn for wanting to stick to 2D. haha This is really good!

2D has a lot of advantages too and to be honest 3D is naturally more complex in some ways, but it definitely pays off at certain moments :)

Absolutely. e.g.: in 2D, depth sorting all those blades of grass would be non-optimal using conventional y-sorting algorithm. What I did in my personal project was a custom sorting algorithm based on masking (like a fool's z-buffer). Something that in 3D would be "free". haha

Did I already mention I love terrain tools? 😄

not enough hehe ¬‿¬ ♡

I have made a similar prototype. currently there are no animations but planning to create an asset pipeline on top. this inspired me a lot. thank you.

Absolutely gorgeous grass!! 🔥🔥

Thanks !!

I will love to play this game

out where?

It's fun to see how you present these solutions as effortless additions, like nothing important so far compared to what's coming. 🙂

Ahah effortless would be an overstatement but we have so many things we can't wait to show you, that's for sure!

Love it❤️ How are the grass tufts themselves made? Like, where does the shell-texturing get the data from? Are they pre-drawn as pixel art and scattered, or is it also noise-based? Anyway, it gives some great texture to the to the scene!

Thankkkks ! The grass tufts are driven by noise combined with height maps that control both the tuft shape and whether they appear or not!

Bro how did you accomplish this?

As I've mentioned a few times in the comments I'd really love to do some tech breakdown videos to go into more detail! We're in heavy production right now but when I get the time I'll post that!

Thanks a lot. But no need to go out your way for this. Have a nice day

those tools look amazing! damn the trees are so pretty!

man I have a question, I always wanted to do something like this o my current project, but I don't know how to create a brush tool similar to that, is this something you can do only with shaders or are you also using the terrain tool in unity? is this unity?

I used to use the terrain tool but now I switched to a homemade tool! ( for the painting )

You can use rounded tiles? That's a thing? I love that!
