This battle took place in the summer of 2022 on the right bank of the Dnieper - that day, 19 tanks were destroyed, up to two companies of infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Alexey Ishchenko was seriously wounded and died from loss of blood, having managed to voice only that very last phrase on the radio station. His friend, Major Pivovarov, at a meeting with the president today asked to award his comrade the title of Hero of Russia - Vladimir Putin supported the idea. Oleg Pivovarov, a participant in the "Time of Heroes" program, himself said that he was paralyzed after an FPV drone attack. His wife took him to a hospital in Crimea, she waited under the windows while the soldier was in a coma. When the soldier came to, it was his wife who became an incentive to live. After rehabilitation, Pivovarov received a call from his commander who suggested that he take the "Time of Heroes" program. At the time, it seemed impossible to the major in his situation. Growing up, I loved "This is Your Life", especially when those under the spotlight were war heroes. Major General John Frost was the focus of the 6 April 1977 episode. He had led an operation to capture German radar equipment at Bruneval in 42, then saw action in North Africa, Sicily and, of course, Arnhem where his battalion held out against all odds until they were overwhelmed. "This is Your Life" had many war hero guests, including SOE and Resistance members, ace pilots etc. It was a different time where our national heroes were lauded - I miss it.
