🏗️ A major engineering milestone for Mumbai Metro Line 2B! MMRDA has successfully lifted and installed the first 70-tonne back-span pier segment of the Bandra Railway Over Bridge, marking the start of steel superstructure work on one of Mumbai’s most challenging cable-stayed bridges. The 200-metre bridge is being built across the Western Express Highway and Western Railway corridor near Bandra Railway Station — one of Mumbai’s busiest and most complex transport environments. The cable-stayed structure comprises: 🔹 A 104-metre main span, supported by back spans of 43 metres and 53 metres 🔹 49 composite steel segments, including 24 across the back spans and 25 across the main span 🔹 Two 20.1-metre-high pylons, with four of six casting lifts already completed at both locations 🔹 The entire substructure completed, including foundations and piers With the first 70-tonne segment successfully installed, work can now move ahead on the next stage of the steel superstructure. What makes this feat even more significant is where it is being built: across a live railway corridor and one of Mumbai’s busiest highways, with rail and road traffic continuing uninterrupted. A big thank you to the engineers, workers and teams on the ground whose planning, precision and commitment to safety have made this possible. 🙌 This milestone takes Metro Line 2B, Mumbai’s vital East–West connector from DN Nagar to Maharashtra Nagar–Mandale, another step closer to completion. Once fully operational, Line 2B will cut travel time by up to 75%, help reduce congestion and pollution, and connect seamlessly with four Metro lines, the Monorail, and both Central and Western Railway. Another span in place. Another connection closer to reality. This is the #MumbaiInMinutes vision — taking shape, span by span. #MMRDA #MumbaiMetro #MahaMumbaiMetro #MetroLine2B #MumbaiInfrastructure #Engineering #ReimaginingMMR #ReshapingMMR #RebootingMumbai CMO Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis Eknath Shinde - एकनाथ शिंदे Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd MAHARASHTRA DGIPR PIB India PIB in Maharashtra 🇮🇳

Alhamdulillah! After months of dedicated effort, persistent follow-up, and close engagement with all stakeholders, the Punjab Assembly has today passed the bill upgrading UET Lahore Sub-Campus Narowal into an independent University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Narowal. This landmark achievement marks the beginning of a new era of growth, excellence, innovation, and opportunity for the youth of Narowal and the surrounding region. As an autonomous institution, UET Narowal will be better positioned to expand academic programs, strengthen research and innovation, forge industry linkages, and produce the highly skilled human capital required for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. The legislation has been carefully designed to meet the demands of the new technological age, incorporating modern governance, academic, and institutional frameworks that will enable the university to evolve into a centre of excellence in engineering, technology, entrepreneurship, and applied research. I congratulate the students, faculty, alumni, and people of Narowal on this historic milestone. This achievement reinforces our commitment to investing in education, empowering our youth, and building a knowledge-driven Pakistan in line with the vision of URAAN Pakistan. The journey has only begun. InshaAllah, UET Narowal will emerge as one of Pakistan’s leading innovation driven technological institutions and a catalyst for regional and national development.

Cable Zercher Slant Board Squat This is a very cool exercise I have started doing with the following beneficial mechanics: - Slant Board (Heels Elevated): The incline shifts your center of gravity forward, allowing for greater knee flexion, a deeper squat for those with limited mobility and a more upright torso. This puts an extreme emphasis on the quadriceps, particularly the vastus medialis (VMO) or teardrop muscle. - Zercher Position: Holding the load in the crooks of your elbows forces your upper back and core to work harder to prevent the weight from pulling your torso forward. This is a very natural force pattern that has great carryover to real life applications. - Safety/Stability: The cable acts as a guide, making it easier to maintain your balance on the slant board while focusing entirely on the muscle contraction, good for those who want to push the legs with a bit more “safety” than a free weight squat. Unlike a barbell where the tension changes through the range of motion (getting "easier" at the top), the cable provides constant mechanical tension throughout the entire squat. It is an exceptional movement for building teardrop quad definition and improving knee stability, as well as core bracing. I like to do it 6 or so sets, high volume repetitions - pyramiding up from low weight to high with minimal rest times - focusing on achieving the most brutal lactic acid build up that I can in the legs, done at the start of a workout. Even though the weight isn’t hugely high on the cable machine, it still packs a massive punch. Try it out! In continuous cable manufacturing, compressed air performance must keep pace with constantly changing production demands. In a leading cable manufacturing facility, compressed air plays a critical role across extrusion controls, air-wipe drying, cleaning, and material handling systems, making pressure stability and compressor reliability essential for consistent product quality and high uptime. At the plant, a 75 kW fixed-speed compressor reliably met base air requirements. However, variations in production loads, line speeds, and process cycles led to frequent demand fluctuations, resulting in repeated compressor cycling, higher energy consumption, and pressure instability across the system. With the deployment of ELGi’s DEMAND=MATCH System, performance was evaluated under actual operating conditions by comparing operations with and without DEMAND=MATCH. The results were clearly validated. • 11.1% reduction in average power consumption (from 69.9 kWh to 62.1 kWh per hour) • Approximately 1,489 units of energy saved over just eight days of actual running • Reduced load cycling, leading to improved pressure stability and lower mechanical stress on the compressor This deployment demonstrates how intelligent airflow control can deliver measurable gains in energy efficiency, system stability, and operational reliability, all critical in a continuous manufacturing environment. A strong example of how aligning compressed air delivery with real-time demand can drive sustainable performance improvements on the shopfloor.
