Communism’s biggest flaw is its inability to scale. 4 adult friends can choose to live together and their home could be run very effectively by communist principles. When you try to do it with a larger group, a hierarchy will form and a dictator will come to be. It’s inevitable.

Good point, but I’d say its biggest flaw is that it disregards human nature. But that kind of ties into your point—theoretically, four people could actually care about their collective “common good.” An entire society doesn’t give two craps about the collective “common good;” we don’t know each other like that. So yeah, a dictator has to step in to force it all in place.

@TexasJerzyBoy THEORETICALLY, 4 people could live together & care about their collective common good but in REALITY it only works until 1 or more become lazy & start taking advantage of the more ambitious people in the group. On a large scale it’s impossible. Decision making requires hierarchy.

I just struggle to comprehend how these types think. Without capitalism, she wouldn’t have the hair color. The hat. The iPhone. The medicine when she’s sick. The literal shirt on her back. If there’s no reason to make something, to make money, eventually, nothing gets made. There is no getting ahead. No wealth gets created. And you end up with an entire society in full poverty. Just like what’s in every single country that’s ever tried full on communism. It’s never worked… once. What none of these kids understand is they are basing everything off of where the USA is today in terms of wealth. Their launching pad would be using the wealth that capitalism built. They want communism along with mobile phones, streaming services, internet, Ubers, social media platforms and Trader Joes. None of that exists in communism unless it's built using capitalism. If they were to start a country from scratch using communism, it would talk decades to create what capitalism creates much sooner. I'd love to see this woman's face when her state-run internet provider decides it has to throttle her service because everyone is entitled to the same bandwidth. Or when her state-run social media account is capped at a certain number of followers because other people have less followers and it's creating conflict due to the inequality.
