Smh… anything to disparage a black man.. of course Michael got moves from bob fosse.. he was the biggest dancer and choreographer of the times in the 60s 70s and 80s. They always use a black to disparage a black.

All due respect his dance looks terrible on him. thank God MJ made it a move for generations.

It's not always who does it first, but who does it best! Even the moonwalk was originally done by Bill Bailey, but it still doesn't take away from the greatness of MJ!

I’m so tired of these fucking melanated immigrants trying to rewrite black American history. It is historically, though Michael Jackson was inspired by James Brown and the Nicholas Brothers, who were world renowned known for their dancing skills. To my white Americans, please stop listening to these immigrants, no matter the race.

@RobbiJadeLew Probably because we don't think attempts to disparage Michael's legacy are funny or cute. And someone's enthusiasm doesn't diminish that fact. The all time great loved that they saw themselves in Michael. He was an amalgamation of them all.

Exactly. Nothing is born in a vacuum. Every legend is just the next chapter in someone else’s unfinished sentence… polished, spun faster, moonwalked across the floor 😂🤣 Art is just glorious, shameless inheritance

It’s simple. Whites invented everything. Blacks stole everything.

Culturally ignorant people need to learn a thing or two about what's the difference between stealing and inspiration. Gene Kelly's widow can teach you a thing or two about that and why MJ was accepted in the world of legendary dancers. Source:

If Michael Jackson was inspired, he didn’t steal it. He perfected it. He looked at this man and said oh he ain’t doing it right let me show you how it’s really done.💯👏🏾

@charmarigolds “Study the greats and become greater” MJ always cited his influences, down to even giving credit to learning the moonwalk from street dancers. If you want to be great, learn something from someone who already is great and take it to the next level.

MJ had way more dance moves than shown in this video and the Fosse moves are not evne the same as the MJ moves. If they were kids would learn to dance the Snake from the Little Prince not Billie Jean that's like saying he stole stepdancing

Fosse is a very famous choreographer. Many Broadway musicals were choreographed by him. It's the style that was emulated not stolen.

This is Etienne Decroux, born 1898 and inventor of “mime corporel”. His “la marche” (in the 1946 film Les Enfants du Paradis) was inspired by Cambodian court dancers adapted by his student, Marcel Marceau as “man walking against strong wind”.

Michael Jackson says himself he was inspired by Marcel Marceau (a student of Etienne Decroux’) who had been doing his televised mime performances since the 1950s, including “man walking against strong wind” which he learned from Decroux.

In conclusion, Michael Jackson was a brilliant artist—“stole” is a terrible word to use because he did what all great artists do: they borrow from those who came before to create their own unique style. Are we going to trace all beats to the first caveman pounding two rocks? 🤣

Zoomers are retarded. The Jackson 5 had a Variety Hour and you can watch old episodes to see where he developed his style. Also, MJs main inspirations were James Brown and Fred Astair.

Michael has always given credit to those that have inspired him. Always. He didn’t steal anything. He’s always said to watch the greats and become greater.

Get it correct because even Fosse drew inspiration from outside of his own self.

I found this interesting. The thing about artists is they emulate their idols when they're developing and coming up. The best steal from one bag of tricks to add to their own.
