Did Sonic '06 actually deserve the hate?

Yes. I'm tired of pretending that garbage games from the past are considered national treasure twenty or more years later. Otherwise, we'd be praising that E.T. game.

The game doesn't work, man. It's not aesthetic and gameplay preferences, the game doesn't function half the time. It needs loading screens to load the loading screens to load a pre-cutscene to another loading screen. You don't know what you're saying.

There’s a good game burried beneath all of the bugs. If it got a proper remake it could be an amazing game. The silver missions&ganplay would need to be completely redesigned

I played the heck out of this game, yes it did. Very glitchy and random difficulty spikes. I played it because I liked Sonic and this was my only option at the time.

No. It is awesome. The silver ball puzzle deserves all the hate though.

Hate I would say no. Criticism yes. I think there is plenty to like about Sonic 06 if you're the type who can look past it's glaring flaws, but those glaring flaws still make it a game that shouldn't have shipped in the rushed, unpolished condition it did.

For the story, hell no. For the buggy gameplay and stages, ABSOLUTELY.

Did it have AWFUL glitches, crashes, and long af load times? YES. Were the Silver levels annoying? YES. Was the kiss AWFUL? YES!... but did I have fun running around as Sonic and Shadow? YES! Was the soundtrack amazing? YES! It was a bad game with some redeeming qualities.

@silver_is_based Best level design in the franchise, best story, best character models, best set pieces, best utilisation of multiple characters, best characterisation, best UI, amazing OST, graphic style and game design. Too bad secret rings broke the team and two and the director quit.

They can redeem themselves if they do a 20th anniversary remake that fixes everything including the dreaded load times, because clearly this game was rushed at the time.

The only good thing about this game is the soundtrack, I still listen to it to this day, but the game is not it. Even Shadow the Hedgehog was a better game.
