Making this argument that college educated people are uncomfortable talking to non college educated people and the opposite is insane. It’s not college that’s the problem. It’s the way public school districts are drawn. 83% of kids in the us attend public schools. Drawing districts and school bus routes in such a way that schools teach poor, middle and upper class kids in the same school would not only improve the quality of public education but solve this uncomfortable around people not like them problem. Team sports like free/low cost little league also solves this problem. Club sports filter for the rich. Etc. Expose kids to every slice of life and the struggles and benefits that come with it solves the problem. Appealing to the lowest common denominator or dumbing down the message ain’t it, imo.

@BMStudebaker Bernie did extraordinarily well. Bernie would have won, as they say. The idea that we need a candidate even better than Bernie is fundamentally flawed. Bernie was not allowed to win. No leftist will be, and it's a waste of energy and resources to keep trying.

@BMStudebaker I don't get why that guy is so hung up on the university aspect. I think a bigger problem is Bernie is surrounded by people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and countless others like them. He also actively refuses to engage people on the left that criticize him from the left.

@BMStudebaker Okay, but Brie, when was the last time you interviewed a non-college educated activist, socialist and/or union organizer (etc)? Of course you can interview who you want, but you seem to have time to make space for more far-right wing pundits before ever considering the former.

@BMStudebaker Studebaker has argued that the GOP is a lesser evil for the left. Anyone who is contemptuous of the opposite argument--that the Dems are a lesser evil for the left--should be just as contemptuous of Studebaker's position (if they claim to believe in independent left politics).
