Why is there a special day for squirrels? They are amazing gardeners! They plant seeds which grow into trees, helping with forest renewal! Contributed to urban park beautification. Part of food chain for predators.

Silly Facts! Squirrels bury and rebury nuts. This is called SCATTER HOARDING. However, other squirrels often steal their nuts. To prevent this, squirrels create FALSE caches to trick nut thiefs! 74% of the time, the squirrel FORGETS where their nuts are!

I used to see squirrels with broken or really short tails in my yard. Couldn't figure out why until I found a squirrel tail in the bottom of my parrot's cage. They'd get into the very bottom of the cage to eat what the parrot didn't want. Apparently she didn't like that.

Really cute, until they come down your chimney and immediately do a nutty! You live with them inside for several days. Finally get them out.

It is really disrespectful to make the National Squirrel Appreciation Day..in winter! 😂 They won't be able to even enjoy their appreciation day! 😂

I have 3 grey squirrels that visit our bird feeders so I made them a tray of their own - they are spoiled rotten! They are contortionists and acrobats that somehow can jump over the bell up to the feeders, then stretch their bodies to (what looks like) three times their length!
