This is the thing that drives me absolutely insane with Xander during his tenure with the Padres. He earns a 2-0 hitters count, gets an ideal pitch to drive but somehow is in between swinging and not swinging. He then gets a similar pitch the very next pitch but fouls it off. As a veteran I just don’t understand how he is not capitalizing in these favorable situations.

When you look at Carson Benge, it’s pretty easy to envision him being able to fill out rather easily as he looks very thin. With the pop he already generates, I’d really hope he puts on lean weight very slow and gradual. No need to zap athleticism.
