GPT 5.6 Sol just saved me €650 a year and demonstrated just how good this model is as an agent in @ChatGPTapp Codex. This is not a clickbait, let me explain. In France, insurance companies tend to hide all their prices behind quote forms that take at least 5min to complete for a single configuration on a single provider's website. And that take an other 5min to understand. If you want to compare 10 companies across 5 configurations each, it takes at least 4h +. (It's such a painful process that entire businesses exist just to compare insurance offers.) Since I have two cars, it would normally take me 8h so an entire day to have a real large view of my best option. Companies know this and use the friction to maintain overpriced offers. So I asked @ChatGPTapp with GPT 5.6 Sol, using Chrome tabs, to go through all those annoying forms. I provided him all my contrats with my current insurance companies so he have context. For some insurers, you even have to speak with a representative just to get a quote (which is absurd in 2026), so it emailed the companies, exchanged the required information, and obtained the prices. It then ran a complete benchmark, read all the terms and conditions, and recommended three options from three different companies. I picked one, and it completed the subscription with my new insurance company. And that's how I ended up with better insurance coverage for less money. For 4% of my weekly quota in 20x plan. (i think it's fair) All of that happened while I was walking my dog for 50 minutes, he was working on my computer all by it's on. Yes, computer use existed before OpenAI GPT 5.6 Sol, but this is a completely different level in the way it handles these kinds of tasks. I think this story shows the new era of AI we're entering, good model is not only for one single task as coding or answering question, AI now can do things for you, like in your daily live. I love being able to hand my computer over to GPT 5.6 Sol. PS: The only annoying part was that some companies still require "Verify you're human" checks. In the age of AI agents, websites really need to be ready for robot access.

I often think of my father when I hear some academics pontificating about how to solve the unemployment problem. I'm tempted to say to them, 'Well, if you find it so easy to solve, why don't you go out and start up a business and employ by your own effort? I will tell you why, because you can't. It's easier to tell other people what to do about it than it is to sort it out yourself.' But in the end, we have to provide the kind of society where people who can do this, who can build up a business, are prepared to start because they're tremendously important.

Anne Lamott coined “shitty first drafts” in her book, Bird by Bird, where you “let it romp all over the place, knowing that no one is going to see it and that you can shape it later.” So, how do you shape it? You take it through three drafts: 1) The child's draft / shitty first draft: be firm but friendly. "I like this. I like your description, but we're going to maybe use it somewhere else." 2) The adult draft: you take out, you fix, you find the stronger verbs. 3) The dental draft: "You go twos by twos. You wiggle and jiggly floss. Some teeth might need a little attention. Some teeth are fine. You go on to the next one, and that's really what good writing is." Great writing rarely emerges on the first pass. It’s an iterative process where you get it all on the page, remove and strengthen, and then tweak the details to end up with a great piece. How science works according to Nobel Prize winner Thomas Südhof: Very often, politicians think that you can tell scientists what they’re supposed to discover. You can’t! Scientists don’t know what they are going to discover. They have to try things. They have to have curiosity and ideas, but they also have to have the knowledge to try things. Very often, it leads to nothing; it’s a waste. But we didn’t know when we started it’s a waste. But when something does work. When something clicks, it is exciting and rewarding but it’s never just one click. You get a result on it, you’re hopeful, you build on it. Maybe it’s confirmed you’re even more hopeful. So it’s an incremental process. It is never one thing - boom we discovered a major thing, my god this is it. It is more like walking up a flight of stairs where each step counts and the higher up the stairs you go the better you can see what’s on top and become excited about what’s there and how you can use.

Power Of The Russian Psychics, 1993 — I converted this VCR tape sent to me along with 17 boxes of former Soviet Union Research from the grandchildren of a Washington DC based research scientist. Their only request is to use this materials as part of a larger local AI. Some of these materials came out of the Soviet Union just after the walls fell and may be the only copies of research into torsion fields, Kozyrev mirrors, psychic research, remote viewing and much more. He had a note to watch this VCR tape of a US TV special he anonymously consulted with and a few others to help his children and grand children to understand what he discovered. He did not want anyone to know his research as it would have impacted his career in science. Yet he did produce a ~700 page report for an “institution” on the materials. He passed away rather suddenly and now it is up to me and AI to make use of this. I need to get permission to open source all of these astonishing materials and if yes, it will be at the Internet Archive. Be skeptical like I am but be honest enough to think in possibility.
