The Kankakee Supercell is one of the most unbelievable Storms I’ve seen in a long time. This Supercell was an absolute MONSTER. It ⬇️ • Maintained a Mesocyclone for OVER 7 HOURS • Triggered 7 PDS Tornado Warnings • Produced the FIRST Tornado Emergency of the year This thing was a Tornado producing machine for HOURs. Storm-following loop of a highly tornadic Griffin-esque bookend vortex/mesovortex that went through the KNQA area. Numerous tornadoes spawned by this system, some of which had pretty hefty TDS's. One of the most interesting bits is where the debris from the first few tornadoes looks to get caught in the mesocyclone of the prime supercell, and swirls around for almost an hour!

The amount of convective available potential energy over the Middle East on Thursday is enough for a textbook hatchery of supercell thunderstorms. Where this unstable mass of nearly 5,000 J/kg of CAPE intersects with the dip in the jet stream will determine the greatest threat area for desert tornadoes (most likely in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia) and/or strong marine waterspouts over the Persian Gulf.

This is one of the most unique stream overlays I've ever seen. It's made entire up of real hardware CRTs, with a camera pointing toward them. It lets the streamer "pop out" of the overlay. Incredible retro vibes.

Want to know why the 4-26-2026 Foraker, Oklahoma #tornado went from an established "hog/ potential long track tornado" to POOF in a matter of seconds? After diving deep into my drone & 360 video it became fairly obvious as to what happened. If you watch this video close, you can see a sudden burst of what initially looks like outflow blowing out and away from the tornado as it simultaneously collapses the lower vortex. I know you're probably asking yourself, "why would this be outflow", and its a great question. The answer is, its not. What I believe is happening here is the mesocyclone is beginning to "handoff" to the new meso north. (aka the twin tornado). The RFD surge on the fully condensed tornado ends up getting pulled into the one to the north completely undercutting it. (as seen in the video). Where have we seen this before?? Funny coincidence, on the April 26, 2024 (yes same exact day two years prior) tornado outbreak across Nebraska and Iowa, you could see this exact thing happen with the Lincoln tornado as it handed off to what turned into the Waverly tornado to the north.
