Tokenization as Infrastructure, Not a Shortcut In this clip, André Casterman explains why tokenization is best understood as an upgrade to the internet’s financial infrastructure, not a guarantee of liquidity or success. Tokenization does not create demand on its own. Liquidity still matters. What it does change is the efficiency of how value moves. Cheaper settlement. Faster transfer. Native verifiability. Money has always evolved alongside technology. From paper, to electronic ledgers, to digital payment rails, each shift changed how markets operate rather than whether they operate. The IMF's perspective highlights that tokenization is part of this same progression. It brings faster settlement, broader access, and new ways for assets to be represented digitally. I asked Maldives Airports Company Ltd staff to contact Beijing Capital Airlines’ ground handler (Voyages Maldives). The airline staff could not come to assist but spoke over the phone. Their position was clear: They have no SOP to provide immediate assistance or even attend the case proactively from their side, all the burdens are on the passengers they are expected to: • Manage on their own ( note: most of our arrivals are tourists ) • Go home however they can • Buy a new suitcase if necessary • Submit a claim later with receipts and hope for reimbursement Now the serious Q: How is an airline allowed to operate at the main international airport of a top global tourist destination without internationally practiced minimum passenger assistance standards? Legal liability sits with the airline. But service standards inside the terminal fall under airport oversight. If MACL does not require airlines to follow defined passenger assistance standards, that is a regulatory gap that must be addressed. World class airport happens when airport operator require, establish and enforce world class standard and services
