DmC: Devil May Cry was an underrated gem

100% agreed. Sure some of the characterization was crude and kind of cringy, but the gameplay was fun, the symbolism was deep, and the story was a great allegory for the obedience training instilled upon a population too willing to sell their freedom for pleasure & vice.

No it's not. The gameplay was on par for the series at best, and everything else about it is mediocre.

Combat was fun af. Story was weird af. That is all. Unnecessary reboot imo.

I'm almost 1000% certain everyone loved the combat they just hated the direction of the story and the angst teenage donte (dante yes im aware, you just had to be there to get it)

It would be a better game if wasn't meant to be a Dmc game, it would be a good contender, but the way they name it Dmc, and change the whole story, that's why is not remembered as a good game. Change the name, the characters, and you would get a refreshing hack and slash game

As "Devil May Cry" story this game sucks. As gameplay, awesome, love it.

As a hardcore OG DMC fan, the gameplay was fine, but the story was total dogshit even if it was a standalone game and not attached to a beloved IP.

Better level design and more engaging enemies than DMC5.

Good Combat doesn't make a good game especially after the creator of this trash openly disrespected the fans. This game is trash and will forever be trash

Mixed bag. Banger combat, hit and miss music, fun locations and traversal, forgettable story. Got much more fun with classic skins or when you switched everything to Spanish.

It’s the 3rd best Devil May Cry game. Ninja Theory deserves another shot and to craft a sequel. It’s great
