It was one of the most underrated Devil May Cry games

“Most hated.” Ninja Theory did an awesome job with the gameplay, music, and retelling of the story from a Western perspective. People saying it was bad wanted silly Eastern antics and camp. This wasn’t it.

At the end of that game Dante sexually harasses a girl, who had been raped as a child for many years. So no, the game was an absolutely shit Devil May Cry game, made by a guy who modelled Dante after himself.

An unironic try hard edgy Dante with Virgil using abortion by sniper as a plot point. It should not be a surprise most OG fans didn't like this game, even the launch version had performance issues. Not saying it doesn't have its merits but DMCV proved fans prefer that over this

What should it be rated?

Twas a pretentious cash grab that openly shat on the people who liked the original series and with a mediocre story, characters and (mostly) boring bosses. Underrated? Overrated more like.

This game was my introduction to the franchise, I had fun playing it. Fam bases can be very narrow minded sometimes.
