Merry Christmas Eve, dwellers. 🎄🐲 I have a request from a friend that may apply to many people out there, but here are my thoughts… (I apologize for the lengthy response, but this topic is something I also care deeply about) You are doing better than you think. You compare it to an ideal that no one else is holding you to. With that mentality, you forget how much care, time, and effort you already put in. If you keep telling yourself that you are not good at anything, pause for a moment and understand this: that thought isn't true. Anxiety and low self-esteem change how you interpret your own work. Your mind learns to look for flaws and dismiss everything that went right. So even when you make something solid or meaningful, it feels small to you. That does not mean it is small. It means your perception is narrowed by fear and pressure. Perfectionism often hides behind self-criticism. If something is not flawless, your mind labels it as worthless. But that standard is impossible and unfair. Growth does not happen at the finish line. It happens in the unfinished, imperfect attempts you keep doing. The work you are making is not insignificant. It shows growth and someone who is learning while still trying. That matters far more than perfection ever will. You do not need to see your full potential right now. You do not need to prove your worth by being exceptional or reach some invisible standard to justify your effort. You just need to keep doing it and allow your work to exist as it is. Others can see the value even when you cannot. If you cannot see your potential right now, that is okay. You are not broken. You are not lazy. You are not wasting anything. Here’s Saban on the Illusion of Choice: “These guys, they all think they have this illusion of choice. Like I can do whatever I want to do. “You have a younger generation now that doesn’t always get told no. They don’t get told this is exactly how you need to do it. So they have this illusion that they have all these choices. “But the fact of the matter is, if you want to be good you don’t really have a lot of choices. It takes what it takes. You have to do what you have to do to be successful. “You have to make the choices and decisions to have the discipline and the focus to the process of what you need to do to accomplish your goals. “All these guys that think they have a lot of choices are sadly mistaken. At the start of this year, Phil Mickelson had a crushing ball speed of 165mph. Within 2 months he upped that to high 170’s and topping over 180. That’s an incredible jump for a man in his 50’s! He puts it down to training with speed sticks and explains how he has to change his release the faster he gets. “What I do notice is as I speed the swing up, I have to change the release point of my golf swing. I use length to create the leverage that I want, so it takes a lot of pressure off. But, as I do that, I have to change where the release is. But if I speed up, when I get down to the ball the face will be open. So I have to feel like I’m releasing the club a little bit earlier.” Lefty is a master at going deep in explaining the technicals of the golf swing. And finally, the last one: The reason I made “Good Day” is because I sincerely wanted to tell you to have a good day, every single day. And I made it thinking that when you listen to this song, it could be the moment you wake up each day. All of us, me included, there are times in life when we feel tired, struggle, and want to give up. I’ll talk more about it after the album is released. But whatever happens, I hope you never give up. You might feel down right now, or feel like giving up, whether it’s friendships, love, or anything at all. But don’t give up. Because I’m here, and you also have people around you who love you. Hi Steve Witkoff Office of the Special Envoy to the Middle East 👋🏽 I thought I’d use this post to offer some assistance, advice and a helping hand in regard to what you’re trying to achieve. It’s very very important that your “negotiation” tactics are done right, because whatever the outcome is, it will affect our lives forever, not yours. It’s also important that you clearly understand the kind of terrorists you’re dealing with, and I’m not sure you do. So I’ve found a video of one of the best ever hostage negotiations with terrorists ever filmed. It’s a step by step guide on how to rescue hostages being held by terrorists, how to act, what to say and how I believe you may need to do, or at least allow someone who can do it try to do it. Unfortunately the current methodology being employed isn’t working, and never will. Terrorists don’t respond to your tactics. Now this instructor in this footage is superb. You’ll know him well. His name is Korben Dallas, and he very kindly takes you through the entire process from start to finish in just 23 seconds. That’s all. Just twenty three seconds is all you need to learn to negotiate with these people. That’s great, right? No more three hours of meetings and back and forth.
