Forearm safety was always a big deal. Even with toy guns we pretended like they were real, no pointing them at each other, how to carry them, where to check for safety, when to just get up and leave a room.

He is 100% correct. I grew up around firearms all my life. The kids that were the most dangerous around them are the kids that were taught nothing about this. I will also say that firearm safety goes hand in hand with teaching the value of human life, which is something you should also be teaching your children.

Exactly. My daughter learned firearm safety at 6 yrs old. 🤷‍♂️

My dad taught me firearm safety at a very young age. We had guns in just about every corner of the house. I never played with them.

I was 8 when I learned. But my dad always slept on the couch cause of his PTSD from Vietnam. So we knew he was there near the front door.. all the time

I agree with him. My daughters know how to use firearms and they know not to mess with them unless an emergency. Teach them the proper ways when they are old enough to handle one.

Doesn’t matter if I agree or not. A prosecutor will get you every time if there is anything that happens with a minor and the gun. Doesn’t matter if you told them, trained them, or educated them on gun safety. If they do something with the gun, you are on the hook.
