That J6 wasn't a deal breaker for half the country blows my mind

Why does every J6 denier have the same garbage responses? “What do you mean ‘broke into’?” “How many were actually charged?” “Do voters care?” “It was certified eventually” “Can we have a productive conversation?” “They walked in” “What does this have to do with Trump?”

The guy is right. Of the estimated 100,000+ on the Capitol Mall on January 6th, only 1,583 were charged with a crime. That means roughly 0.01% of those in attendance participated in illegal activity. 1,500 unarmed people is not an “insurrection” - a majority of those were Trespass charges. J6 was a legal protest that devolved into an unlawful riot. There’s plenty of evidence that points to outside agitators sparking the events as it was not the intent of Trump or real Trump supporters to breach the Capitol. Several people had their cases dismissed after video evidence showed Police officers opening doors for them. It was a bad day. An ugly riot that capped off a year of much worse, much uglier riots. It wasn’t an “insurrection” - get over it.

FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME. What makes Trump unfit... he submitted 5 slates of fake electors without any constitutional authority. The attack was meant to intimidate the GOP and specifically Pence to refuse to certify. The electors have been indicted in WI, GA and AZ. The planners (eastman, ellis) have been disbarred.

This isn't rocket science. It was a protest turned riot like many protests of that time did. Yes, some people physically broke in - should be charged with breaking and entering. Yes, some people assault police - should be charged with assaulting a police officer But that's about it. After the initial break in, the rest were just let in. Many walking around pictures, even escorted through, by officers. Want to charge them with trespassing? Fine. But hundreds and hundreds of people jailed and many STILL in jail, is way over the top. The certification was delayed, yes. Wrong, but it was. But then was certified and life went on. If you think people mostly walking through the capital holding a flag is some sort of attempt to overthrow the entire US government, then you should be in a mental institution, plain and simple.
