The "psychology of hikers" has changed since the 1960's. From a laid back John Muir mentality to a majority of trail killers who are just carving notches on their hiking poles.

I have a friend who’s an ultralighter & he logs serious miles. I’m told I’m a fast hiker, but I stop a lot to take pics & take in the views. I try to keep my pack weight low, but not so much that I’ll give up some comfort items 😊. Pic from bckpck trip in Oregon.
