No. We have to teach them to understand your authority as a parent and understand where to question. Three start off this is to do it because I say so, then we get to this is why we do it.

This is nonsense. Obedience is first learnt before the understanding. He made good points but obedience is the first thing a child learns. That what will make him not skip school as they know their parents won't like it.

You can teach a child to question in a respectful manner. Also,there is no comparison when it comes to how a child questions a friend v. questioning one’s parents. God said respect your parents &elders. An exemplified hands on lifestyle with kids requires less explanation.

Don't ever forget that kids are VERY FRESH on the scene of life & so,are saying these things cuz they don't know better,as opposed to,'being said out of disrespect'. It's just the way the older-generations have been primed to view respect,that gets 'em enraged by such statements.
