To a point, but how many jobs must a man take on if he's already working 50 hours/week? I get it: chip-in, and do as much as possible out of love. But as a requirement? I think this stretches a bit too far, and in many cases, is unrealistic.

Most of the stuff I already do is because my wife works hard, and I’m also retired now, so I have more time to help her because Beth helps me and helps everybody else in the family. Beth cared for me when I was sick. Beth cared for her mother when she was ill. Beth cared for her father when he was sick. Beth cared for her sister when she was ill. So be good to your spouse. If they have been good to you, you are a team

I do not agree with the house cleaning or taking care of my car. I do those things. I also do not work so I am very capable of taking the burden off my husband.

I agree. I appreciate the help, but I’ll do the deep cleaning and my own car.
