Putting it in the bag is proof this isn’t their first rodeo

The mother fucker said “if you know you’re getting packages to your house” then proceeds to leave the packages on the front yard. To the house are the key words in case anyone is confused. Amazon Policy: •Standard doorstep delivery: Packages are left in a secure location at your front door. You do not need to be home for the delivery. For anyone still confused, if you don’t like your fucking job, quit & find one you like.

If there’s a pothole there or broken bottles under, you won’t see it until you step on the snow.

What a world class jackass. What if the people who live there are handicapped or simply too old and feeble to shovel snow for an able-bodied man like him?

Yes, actually you do have to shovel your walk in path for deliveries to be made to your door. Very dangerous for this man to walk out there because if he slips and falls, he’s out of his income I guarantee he’s not union.

I think he could have put it by mailbox instead. But that’s just me.

I would rather him do that and save me a hit on my homeowners insurance when he falls and gets a decent lawyer 🤣

Yes. Clear a path. When we get snow, I put a plastic bin next to the mailbox and take a sign saying to leave packages. Until I clear the driveway.

At least he bagged it. People can't afford to get hurt at work.

Fair enough. Mailman wouldn’t. Just holding for delivery would happen in any other serious weather condition …

Under these conditions … I agree with him. I actually think he was careful to put it in a baga. He didn’t need to. We have to be empathetic with people who are serving us so we dont have to get out in the middle of a storm. Not easy to be working under these conditions.

Yes. They have to go to the end of the driveway to get their mail anyway. At least he protected the boxes from getting wet by bagging them.

I dunno. Kinda feels like the guy is not a man. You deliver to the same people all the time. If you have to go above and beyond sometimes, oh well. You knew it snowed when you took the job.

Being a former delivery driver I agree with the driver. Not knowing about black ice makes it dangerous. Shame on the homeowner. Take your lazy ass to the curb and get your shit

He's putting them in plastic bags to protect them. Homeowners didn't clear the walk to protect the driver. Point to driver.

I was UPS driver for 30 years. I always made the walk to the house. I wouldn’t go up icy or heavy snow on steps sometimes. He’s right, it’s the ones who get the most packages that don’t shovel.

I bet he doesn’t even know what the pony express even was. Times have changed the servers demand the service.

It’s actually FedEx and Walmart packages has nothing to do with Amazon!

Holler Hermit's profile picture

It depends. If you know your route and the people on it and you knew these folks were old or disabled, then I would have made the trek. Otherwise, not a problem. I told my driver not to risk the driveway if it is bad, to just leave it at the mailbox. My driveway is 1/2 mile long.

He's correct. I know UPS actually trains drivers to not walk through anything hazardous like that.. snow, tall grass and the likes. I'm sure he would have placed it closer had they at least cleared their drive.

These are Walmart packages and a FedEx Ground delivery driver. They’re about as full of crap as it gets. Rotten from the inside out. This is what I’ve come to expect from @FedEx . I’ve had two packages delivered 3.8mi from my home on the side of a county road in the last month or so. One was even signature required and the driver forged my signature to drop it miles away from my home…or steal it. I’ll never know because both shipments were stolen from where they were abandoned by FedEx.

I am a FedEx driver, just like the poor guy here. I stand with the driver. What people need to realize is that your delivery driver has the right and the obligation to figure out how to deliver your package safely. This dude had a couple options: weather code it or bag it up and leave it on the driveway. When I say “code it”, I refer to what happens when you can’t deliver a package. The weather conditions here would justify a weather code. (Side note: the main reason I code a package is because I need a signature and no one is home to sign for it. NO, I can’t sign it myself; that is something I can be fired for.) I could, in this situation, leave it either on the driveway or right by the mailbox. There is no way I could get down the driveway in those conditions. Absolutely not. However, if I didn’t want to code the package (or if I get paid per stop), then I have to deliver it- and leaving it on the driveway or near the mailbox is the best I can do in this situation. The customer needs to get out there with a shovel and clear a path.

I can't get over all the hate in this post. You know you have packages coming? How about you show a little respect and shovel a walk. If he falls, yeah he can claim it, but it doesn't change the fact the man is hurt. Black ice is no joke. He doesn't know what is under that snow. Just wow....
