U2 Dragon Lady......I see them nearly every day especially this version of the aircraft. This is a 2 seat trainer. I work 5 miles from the main gate of the USAF 9th Reconnaissance Wing. The base used to be home to the SR-71, B-52, and still fly the KC-135 air refuelers, Global Hawk, T-38 Talons, the PAV PAWS West Coast early warning missile radar site.

Yep, my grandfather helped build it. That's the U2. Before we had high resolution satellite reconnaissance, this is what we used. Also the plane that Gary Powers was flying in 1960 when he was shot down over the USSR.

The U2 was America spy plane until the Russians shots it down over Cuba in 1962. The Blackbird SR71 toke over!

Trainer version of the U2. I see these flying over my house from time to time, as I live near an airport where they do training.

It's a U-2, Cold War reconnaissance plane. It flies in the upper atmosphere for which the pilot wears a pressure suit. This one seems to have a 2nd cockpit bolted on, and might be a trainer.
