This “doctor” deserves to be famous for the gross negligence she has shown to patients. Dr Windell Boutte practiced aesthetic surgery and dermatology in Lilburn, Georgia. Icilma Cornelius wanted a “glow up” for her wedding. She had Botox and some fillers but was persuaded to have a tummy tuck and lipo by Dr Boutte. Dr Boutte was only certified in dermatology. Not surgery. During the 8 hour operation, Icilma had a heart attack. Not only could Dr Boutte not handle medical emergencies, some of her staff were not even medically qualified and the elevator was too small to take Icilma’s stretcher. The delays resulted in Icilma suffering brain damage. She became completely dependent on her son who was her full time carer until she died 7 years later. This is not the first such case for Dr Boutte, a doctor who has posted videos of herself with medical instruments in hand, dancing around patients on the operating table. She has had 28 medical malpractice lawsuits, a “record” according to her insurance company. She had her license revoked by the medical board in Georgia but it is reported that she moved to Texas and worked at a medical spa, Eden Med Spa under the name Catherine Davis (her middle and maiden names). The spa has now taken her off their books.

A surgery was canceled on December 30 because the operating rooms weren’t safe. Weeks later, I’m still trying to get it rescheduled. This patient needs breast reconstruction. The same hospital that canceled her surgery continues to have safety issues. They canceled surgeries again today. So I’m trying to move her surgery to our surgery center, where the operating rooms are safe and the team is built for this exact work. It’s mid January and I still can’t get it scheduled. Now her insurance says I can do a peer to peer call on January 20. I’ll take the call. I’ll explain, again, why our surgery center is the safer place to do this operation. But here’s the part that matters. Why does a patient who needs covered, medically appropriate breast reconstruction have to wait weeks while a doctor makes a case to an insurance company? I’m a surgeon. The surgery is covered. The facility is safe. This patient deserves care. I’ll keep you posted after the peer to peer.

She visited multiple doctors and emergency rooms before finally being diagnosed with metastatic ovarian cancer at age 44. She was also found to carry the BRCA1 mutation. She found a wonderful oncologist and began treatment, but when her cancer progressed on the strongest medicine available to her, her doctor suggested that she go to MDAnderson for an alternate treatment. Alma has medical insurance, but says that when she reached out to MDAnderson, she was told it would cost $16,000 upfront to have her records reviewed and see a doctor for a second opinion. And this is only part of her story. There is so much more she has endured — more than can fit in a single video — and it deserves to be heard. Regardless of where you stand on policy, insurance, or systems, we can all agree that this is not the way insured patients should experience cancer. This is a crazy case of a nurse who was arrest arrested for refusing to take a blood sample of an unconscious patient and hand it over to the Salt Lake City, police. The unconscious patient was hit by a suspected felon during a police chase. The felon hit the truck driver, putting him in an unconscious state in the hospital. The police wanted a blood sample from him. The nurse rightfully under orders from her superiors, and the law cannot just turn over the blood sample without consent from the patient or a warrant.. The police had no such warrant. She even had her hospital administrator sticking up for her, but she was arrested anyway. If she had turned over that blood sample, she would've lost her job as a nurse, and probably her license. In this case, I do not think she was hindering an investigation. My question is why didn't the cops get a warrant? They couldn't have a judge sign off on one? If you were this nurse, what would you have done? It's a terrible position for her to be put in.!!
