A young Fulani man, who says he was born and raised in Cross River State, made serious allegations during a video call with D English Alhaji, claiming that some influential Fulani politicians, imams and wealthy individuals are allegedly involved in sponsoring kidnapping, terrorism and violence in Nigeria. He went further by naming individuals he claimed were behind some of these activities. These are serious allegations and should not simply be dismissed or accepted without investigation. If the individuals named have evidence against them, the appropriate security agencies should investigate and prosecute anyone found responsible, regardless of ethnicity, religion or political position. Terrorism and kidnapping are not the crimes of an entire ethnic or religious group. The focus should be on identifying the individuals financing, organizing and enabling these criminal networks and holding them accountable under the law. Nigerians deserve the truth, justice and security.

Principle XXVI on Accountability is clear: “All public offices shall be held in trust for the people.” All persons placed in positions of leadership and responsibility must be answerable to the people. The Constitution also requires that all lawful measures be taken to expose, combat and eradicate corruption and abuse of office. We are taking lawful measures. No one is being condemned without due process. Let the investigations be conducted, let the evidence be examined, and let the law take its course. The question we should be asking ourselves is when we will understand that there is more to life than coming online to create content that makes us look bad or to mock someone's family, business, and future. Instead, we should channel that energy towards holding the government accountable. Many celebrities have put their careers on the line and have been affected by their actions. No company should be too big to fail in America, because if all these folks who pride themselves in being capitalists should know it is that government should not be bailing out these corporations. What we should be doing is protecting everyday people from the recklessness and the dangerous decisions that these oligarchs are making. If you have someone that is worth hundreds of billions of dollars, they can take the hit. But people’s pensions and people’s retirements should not be on the line because of the gambling of a handful of people in either San Francisco or Wall Street.
