For everyone who really wants to know: Its turned upside down to stop the tall, fragile dome from collapsing under its own weight while the interior cools and sets. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany

They are for The Australian market

By doing that, you find the underdone ones

Yes, I’ve made Panettone and if you leave it upright it collapses on itself and becomes a dense bread

To keep the shape while cooling, otherwise will collapse.

Cause Vecna loves them

They hang panettone upside down so it doesn’t collapse while cooling. It’s so soft and buttery that it would sink under its own weight if left upright.

Per celebrare Piazzale Loreto.

No common sense? Panettone is extremely light, airy, and tall. When it comes out of the oven, the internal structure is still very delicate and full of steam. If it cools upright: The tall dome collapses into itself, the crumb becomes dense or gummy, the sides can shrink or cave in

It's Panettone from Stranger Things

That’s a thing of beauty

same reason you flip angel food cake.. to preserve the air pockets

it’s hung upside down after baking to allow it to cool properly, preventing the delicate dough from collapsing and maintaining its soft, fluffy texture.

aint nobody got time

Italian Pizza is one of the best

Traditional bakers often cool panettone upside-down using skewers to prevent it from collapsing while the inside is still soft and airy. (This is part of classic Italian baking technique, not just aesthetics.)

Maintains structure, maintains moisture, preserves shape

Can you send me the ones that fall? Thanks ☺️

It needs to cool upside down or it will collapse on itself

I would get so big working here cause I would eat all of the ones that fall out

It's a really nice stretch for their backs, esp when they're sitting all day.

Because it could collapse on itself while it’s too hot after baking

To obtain the characteristic tall, soft dome without depressions. Inside, it is very hot and full of steam. If you leave it upright, the weight of the dough (especially the dome) would press it down as it cools, causing the air pockets to collapse

So that they wont deflate and keep their shape

what do they do with the ones that fall? Half off or ? lol

Because it’s a fascist panettone

I can eat that one, right?

Because they're sending them down under to Australia......

You turn angel food cake upside down until cooled to keep it from collapsing

These are being sent to Australia so they need to acclimatise to being upside down duh

Same as Angel food cake — gas/air filled structure isn’t strong enough to support the height and volume of the pastry until it has cooled.

Better give Dan The Baker his flowers. He’s a legend.

kinda cute how even bread needs support sometimes. wish i had someone holding me like that when i get all soft
