At the same time he flies... around meeting world leaders who supposed not to like his platform 'disinformation' yet drool over him, even interview him like Sunak, and promote him for propaganda like Netanyahu. Perhaps he overemphasises his role in the day-to-day running of his companies because it is good for attracting investors. Investors seem to have the perception that everything he touches turns to gold. I imagine many of his companies are largely run by people he's appointed. It's like arguing how can a medieval king run an entire country? The truth is that he merely oversees what his court do on his behalf. There need not be something insidious at play.

SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, X with Grok (!), Boring, Starlink - every single one of these companies alone is of such enormous importance and potency... The very idea that one person could manage it all is ridiculous 😂 not to mention that there should be anti-cartel boundaries everywhere. It's crazy. I'm not so sure. Here's why. . . I'm a retired 85-year-old who worked many years as an executive for a large multinational company. I started right out of college, and while climbing the corporate ladder, I, personally, never had more than 7 direct reports. Furthermore, the manager above me and the manager below me also had 7 direct reports. And at the top, the CEO had 7 direct reports. That structure allowed us to efficiently manage operations in Europe, Latin America, and the US. In the US, for example, 7^5 or 16,807 managers of some type or rank from the President right down to shop foreman and team leaders. 7^6 or 117,649 was the total number of US employees. At every level, my job had been to communicate my division or department's role in the corporation's strategic or operational plan and provide guidance and direct supervision to my 7 direct reports. Not only did my advancement depend on it, but so did my job. I know and appreciate that the computer age has changed everything. Today's information management systems alone have made what we had considered impossible, possible. In the final analysis, apart from being an idea-generating machine, it is all about systems and processes, and at that, Elon Musk seems very very capable, indeed.
