This is Stephen Hubbard, an American citizen that moved to Ukraine in 2014, and even though "he has never owned a gun and is so non-military" according to his sister, he enlisted in the local Ukrainian territorial defense when Russia invaded in 2022. He was taken prisoner by the Russian terrorists a few weeks later and has been in Russian captivity ever since, yesterday he was sentenced to 7 years in prison for being a "mercenary" in a Russian court.
