Does Sonic have the greatest jump in platform-game history? I'm seriously racking my brain and NOBODY is on his level. This shit never stops being incredible. Also how am I STILL finding sick new ways to play this game 😭

An aspect of Sonic's character that ties to the whole nature vs technology thing is that Sonic, at least in the Classic games, is only as fast as the world that he inhabits allows him to be.

Even the awesome jump tricks in Mario Odyssey don’t move my heart like Sonic does. The fact that it’s all so dependent on the level design and all the subtle slopes in the terrain just makes it endlessly incredible.

hmmm... I want to say maybe Donkey Kong once you really get him going in Tropical Freeze bc of how DK can jump after a roll off a cliff and chain enemy jump momentum

I hadn’t played in a while so treated myself to a drop-dash and other random tweaks just to mix the game up lol

If I made a Sonic fangame, I would make like an indication or arrow that points where's a badnik off screen so I can bounce on it without having to memorize it's position, like that indicator in Super Smash Bros when characters are off screen

There's so many ways to jump, I think that's the main reason, on a upward ramp to gain height, off a wall, off a ceiling, jumping foward in a downward slope to gain even MORE speed, plus landing badniks, so many applications and tools for making the best traversal possible

Sonic CD is just amazing There’s so much ways to complete this game with the good ending in a fast amount of time. It’s one of my favourite video games of all time and I don’t care what anyone says Sonic CD is so good

Yes but this is the most efficient way to get to the past without breaking stride, that bottom path is too bumpy and slow 😂
