Sonic Origins has lots of little flaws, but most of them aren't the end of the world. Sonic 1, 2 and CD are mostly just fine. Its biggest screw-up by far imo is how they ruined this beauitful scene.

For years I debated in my mind whether the “spike bug” was actually a bug, cos surely Naka could’ve just fixed it in like 3 seconds. He didn’t even fix it for the JP revision. There’s no way they just didn’t notice lmao. But yes it is in fact a bug 😂

I really love how You Can Do Anything sort of became Sonic's unofficial theme song back in the 90's after Sega of Japan lost the Masato Nakamura tracks. They even sneakily fused it with "It Doesn't Matter" for the Invincibility theme of Sonic Adventure.
