Does the Bible teach praying to Mary?

Catholic Catechism 2677: “We can entrust all our cares and petitions to Mary.” Bible: Bring all your cares and worries to God (Philippians 4:6).

This is the brick wall. They are so HEAVILY indoctrinated, it is multi-generational, so steeped in superstition and idolatry. You can show them the scripture, you can show them the logic, and yet they STILL will not submit to God.

If I took my cares and concerns to my pastor, is a jealous God angry that I didn't go directly to him? It seems odd that Ryan thinks a saint alive in heaven is unable or unwilling to do what saints on earth can do.

Praying to Mary is not in the Bible. Not once. Jesus never taught it. The apostles never practiced it. Paul never mentioned it. What the Bible DOES say, one mediator (1 Tim 2:5), come directly to God (Heb 4:16). The silence of Scripture here is deafening.

Full conversation (starts at 1:42:55):

@farmingandJesus Is Mary omnipresent? If you know the answer is no, then she could not hear more than one prayer at a time. If your answer is yes then show me the verse.

No

In the story of Adam and Eve, Eve took on the role of intercessor to Adam on satan's behalf. So, through a woman's intercession to Adam, satan succeeded and through a woman's intercession to the New Adam he is daily defeated. The ladder he climbed up is the ladder he is daily thrown down. Mary is the New Eve. An angel spoke to a sinless virgin woman and the agenda of his conversation concerned God's fruit of knowledge on a tree of the knowledge of Good and evil, who was she? Eve or Mary or Both? Both. God's divine Fruit of Knowledge was stolen from Mary the New Eve and nailed to the new Tree of Knowledge on Calvary.

I was raised catholic and had never read the bible till I was 24 years. I had NO idea what the bible said. Jesus opened my eyes to the truth and that He is the truth. These questions would not be asked if people just read HIs word.

I'm confused, don't Protestants ask their mothers to pray for them?

Do you understand the English language? Because you do not understand what praying means Lot of protestants don't even know what gay means

Why do you believe in the Bible?

Do you only teach things that the Bible says to? 2000 years of tradition says a lot about Christianity.

@joshwhitlatch The obfuscating back and forth from “we don’t pray TO, but THRU” is exhausting.

Does the Bible teach hatred and disdain for Mary

Poor spectrum based theology that can't find where bible alone is sufficient or even suggested in the Bible or where the table of contents is.... everything downhill from there is a 2nd graders understanding of Christ

God is the God of the living, not the dead (Luke 20:38) The saints in heaven are cloud of witnesses surrounding us (Hebrews 12:1) They are fully conscious and aware of earthly events (Revelation 6:9-10) Prayers are Handed Directly to God (Revelation 8:3–4)

Does the Bible teach that every Christian practice must be taught in the Bible?

How do you know Our Lady is not in Heaven, and able to hear our prayers? On what authority do you make that as a factual statement? You Haven’t a clue! Yet you assert it, like you have knowledge to this effect.

If the Bible is your only source; consider asking God to receive the Holy Spirit; who will bring you into all truth. That is in the Bible.

The question itself is stupid.. because mary was still alive, so anything that supports “praying to he would be part of the subject of people in heaven being able to intercede, in which the bible has.

Catholicism’s just like Mormons … Trust the church not the bible

You treat the Bible as if it’s the house, when it’s supposed to be the ground floor.

Does he think Catholics don’t pray to God?

IS THE KINGDOM OF JESUS CHRIST A MONARCHY??? You cannot have a king without a Queen Mother. The Queen mother has great sway with the King!! Pray to Mary, she will intercede to Jesus the King, on your behalf!

Why does anyone ask Ryan questions ? Just go directly to the Bible and God

That anyone takes you seriously at this point , I’m sorry this young man had to suffer thru your Bible butchery.

Luke 11:27-28 New American Standard Bible 27 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that carried You, and the breasts at which You nursed!”28 But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and follow it.”

No

You only pray to the father Jesus Christ and the holy Spirit

I’m so convinced by this argument! Now I know I shouldn’t ask anyone else to pray for me anymore! Wow!!!

No, it doesn't teach to pray to Mary. Jesus doesn't command it, and none of the Apostles told followers to pray to Mary.

Admits its insulting, then uses mental gymnastics to try and justify. This is basically a stereotype at this point

Yeah.

They say we don't worship Mary. Well clearly they don't know prayer is a form of worship.
