The Bible does not emphasize Mary. In fact, compared to many other Bible characters, she is barely even mentioned. Roman Catholics worship and pray to Mary because their religion is NOT based on the Bible at all.

Most Catholics know Mary stood at the Cross. But the CCC# 964 says something stunning: Mary “lovingly consented" to the sacrifice of her Son. That is not sentimental Marian devotion. That is supernatural holiness. At Nazareth, Mary said yes to the Incarnation. At Calvary, Mary’s yes became a sword through the soul. She did not run. She did not rage. She stood. And in faith, she consented. This is why Catholics love Mary. Not because she replaces Jesus. Because she teaches us how to follow Him when the Cross costs everything. Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

God never commanded us through His inspired written word to elevate Mary above others who learned from Jesus in the first century! The scripture says that Christians become adopted children of God, never of Jesus’s earthly mother! What’s even more confusing is how in Roman Catholicism not only do they say Mary is the Christians mother but also the holy Roman church is their mother too.
