The sprint deciding sundays grid is an even worse format.

It’s obvious! Full reverse. Stick the slower cars at the front then sit back and watch the carnage. Who is being so intransigent as to not allowing this?!

I think best situation would be Friday FP1 and FP2, Saturday Race Qualifying and sprint race where drivers randomly pull a number 1-20 to determine the order, and then race Sunday

What if they adjusted the schedule of the weekend which would change parc fermé? FP1 Sprint Shootout (parc fermé for Sprint) Sprint Race GP Qualifying (parc fermé for race) GP The Sprint won’t give things away and teams can make adjustments to their cars post Sprint race.
