Just nonsense all round. The answer is air con is low carbon and sustainable provided the grid is drawing near 100% of its power from renewable or nuclear sources. We should fit air con, and work towards eliminating fossil fuels from energy generation

Absolutely. It is not realistic to think we can keep with this Victorian housing stock. Time to redesign and rebuild, high quality climate-resilient homes. That should generate some economic growth. And help us sleep at night without worrying about heatstroke or energy bills.

Worked in a new build school that the architects designed without air conditioning. Air was supposed to be drawn through the school. Was so hot that even on cool summer days classrooms without blinds couldn’t be used and heated upto over 30 degrees inside when it was low 20s
