I asked Fable to build a realistic AAA water simulation with Three.js to see if I should quit my job. 500k tokens later, I'm disappointed. Almost the same exact slop you get with Opus. (Fable on left, Three.js Water Pro on right). Good results still require taste, deep knowledge of the problem domain, and a lot of patience.

Apple just trained a 3D Gaussian head reconstruction model on 10,000+ subjects. Feed-forward. No test-time optimization. New identity in, reconstructed Gaussian head out. The UV-parameterized Gaussian representation decouples the number of Gaussians from the number and resolution of input images, making it practical to train with many high resolution views. And the heads are not just static either: text-conditioned identity generation, plus blendshape-driven latent animation across identities. Every time a strong breeze arrives, the leaves from the trees in our backyard land on our roof and choke the water pipes when it rains. During the ongoing rains and because of our attention diverted, so much of rain water accumulated on the roof that it started overflowing from the slots in the wall. Between two choices, ie chopping the trees and doing something else, we chose the latter. Think before harming those who coexist with us on this.

Sorry but this isn't even close to a realistic simulation. This Three.js water simulation took weeks of effort, hundreds of prompts, and I needed to pull on my CS and physics background to understand where the AI was failing (which happens often). Maybe some day agents will be able to generate complex simulations in a single prompt but for now they can only generate toy prototypes.

Started working on the dynamic water simulation for my relaxing building game today. Obviously quite a lot of work left, but it’s already working with overhangs and everything. Looking forward to making waterfalls more than just lines and making it possible to build aqueducts!
