Sometimes it's the other way around. You get dragged into drama or something really bad happens to you but at the end, you get a lot of support, therefore a lot of engagement even by accident. But unlike ragebait, this is about you, not about controversial positions you have.

I really hate how the term "ragebaiting" is seen by some. Before "ragebaiting" became a thing everyone just called it "being a huge jerk" and it was seen as something bad, but now I see people defending it as an effective (and acceptable) way to grow and that's disappointing.
