Thorpey’s test batting figures are fantastic especially when you consider most times he walked out to bat England were 40-3. He faced some of the greatest bowling attacks the game has ever seen. Ambrose/Walsh, Donald/Pollock, McGrath/Warne etc.

I find this the saddest and hardest cricketing loss for an England supporter in a very long time. His kids will get to see the unparalleled love and respect for Graham Paul Thorpe that all of us have. The best of the best vs best of the best!
