In the hidden sound test in the GBA version of Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong dances at different speeds for each track, mostly befitting the tone of the music. An exception is the peaceful Aquatic Ambiance track, for which Donkey Kong dances unexpectedly energetically.

To this day I fucking wince when I hear Seth Rogan’s God forsaken Donkey Kong voice. It will literally make the Donkey Kong movie their planning unwatchable.

In Donkey Kong 64, if a Kong dies during a cutscene, gameplay will not resume when the cutscene ends. Instead, the camera will simply show the dead Kong's corpse and linger on it indefinitely.

In Donkey Kong Country Returns, a rare glitch can occur upon visiting Cranky Kong, where he will refuse to talk to Donkey Kong and instead sit in silence forever. The player will be unable to leave his shop, requiring the game to be reset.

In Donkey Kong 64, the Giant Spider miniboss can only be fought once. Modifying the game to fight it a second time makes it unceremoniously explode. While this appears to be a glitch, examining the code reveals it was actually deliberately added for the developers' own amusement.

In Donkey Kong Country, if a Kong throws a DK Barrel, but the level is exited before it hits the ground, then the next time that Kong is hit by an enemy, instead of dying, he will simply freeze in place with a shocked expression forever.

In Donkey Kong Country 3, throwing Dixie Kong onto the ground makes her sit and cry. This "ability" is normally useless, except in one specific bonus room, where it is completely overpowered and wins the minigame automatically.
