I played the keyboards and drums as a student. Free for church but a band I played for paid me steady. Pastor Ayanlowo of Holy Ghost Assembly, Sagamu used to pay me also. I still play the keyboards but for free. I’ve got friends who earn good money per gig here. I learnt to play during one long asuu strike

This is good advice, and it has actually been around for a while now. At least, many of us grew up hearing about how beneficial it is to have "handwork." But honestly, I don't think it's in this "TikTok" age where everyone in Nigeria wants to be content creators that they'll listen and take heed. But solid advice, nonetheless, for whoever cares to listen. 👍🏿

This is very good Beyond my Electrical /Electronics Degree this are some of the skills at my disposal over the years. -I am a Small Engine Technician specialized in lawn mowers, generators, and chainsaws e.t.c -I am also a Renewable Energy Expert focused on Solar Energy systems

It has never been a good advice to go to university in Nigeria anyways, just learn your trade, save up, and go for a better education alternate

Very true, I had the same issues too while in the university, zero skills and no proper pocket money, I was hungry almost everyday for 5 years.

I don’t agree with this school of thought completely. If you don’t have a sponsor you can take it hook line and sinker. It’s best when you graduate at a very young age. The Odds are best in your Favor that way. You can always learn a skill during your holidays.
