“Don’t take coaching personally” I’ve NEVER understood when I hear coaches say that!

I don’t understand that either. I realize it’s a game but it’s also my ministry. So I take it very seriously.

It 100% is personal! What I’ve had to remind other coaches and even myself at times is to never want “it” more than the players. The trophy/record/win, etc… If you want it more than the kids you’re set up for failure.

TRUTH!

Exactly, right on point. But at the same time, as I say, “it’s never that serious” it’s just a game

I 100% agree that it’s a game, and we need to keep that in the forefront of our minds, and make it not only challenging, for those were blessed to coach, but fun as well! That being said, I’ve seen the game change way too many lives to ever call it “just” a game! 🙏🏽❤️💪🏽

Absolutely!

Thank You, Sir!!! Love all the messages, but this one is personal!! Would love to have you join us @BostonVsTheBook at some point in 2024 if you have time. Have a great weekend!!

@BostonVsTheBook I’d be honored to!

Taking things personally is understandable when coaches work so hard at being personable.
