THOUSANDS of registered Democrats in LA just voted for a registered Republican Mayor. Why? It's not because the voters changed their left of center values, but rather the Democrat mayor allowed radical policies and stupidity to lead to mass destruction of their city. As the news report shows, she literally let their city burn. Spencer Pratt ran on hyper-local issues, promising results over political slogans and to work across party lines for the safety and security of LA residents. In short, Pratt ran a local race on local issues, something we see less and less of across America. The media likes to cover national politics. But all politics is local. And Spencer Pratt is reminding us of this in a real and powerful way. Jeremiah 29:7 "And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

She laid the responsibility squarely at the feet of city officials and the policies they’ve defended. “Make no mistake, this officer is in the hospital today fighting for his life because of the policies of the mayor of this city and the city council and the people that were in charge of keeping the public safe. They refused to do so.” And with that, she issued a plea to every mayor and governor running a so-called “sanctuary” jurisdiction. “I’m calling on every single mayor and sanctuary city and sanctuary governor to change their policies and to change their tactics right now. Their job is to take an oath to protect the public, to protect families out there every day trying to provide for each other and to try to live the American dream and want to do so safely in their own communities.” Then came the question no one wants to have to answer. “How many more lives will it take?”

The Mayor continues to prioritize special interest groups over the blue-collar, hardworking families of this City. This isn’t a social studies project on civics, although our Mayor leads us to believe it is. This budget and the major impacts it has and will continue to have for years are real-life issues that affect not just the communities in my ward but the entire City. I commend my colleagues, those who aren’t beholden to the Mayor and his special interest groups, who took the time to put aside differences for the good of the City and voted NO on this budget. Our coalition of common-sense leaders wasn’t about "what’s in it for my community," but rather, "what’s in the best interest of the taxpayers of the City of Chicago?" The 2025 Budget vote will surely have lasting consequences. I want residents of the 15th Ward and the City of Chicago to know that I fought and will continue to fight for what is in your best interest, the taxpayer!
