So ... US tariffs , paid by US importers, make it less desirable for Americans to buy Canadian products which will hurt Canadian businesses and tax revenue. Fords response to this is to implement counter-tariffs that will be paid by Canadian businesses and consumers, further damaging them economically. The US can replace much of what they buy from Canada, Canada cannot replace much of what is bought from the US. Cunning plan from Ford, as usual.

They need to be more strategic and play chess and not checkers. "Never outshine your master" It's not about sucking up. But acknowleding that they have more leverage. It's a negotiation tactic to have all your playing cards until you figure it out. Eye for eye with trump will cause more harm to Canadians in long term.
