Why would a government change the law to hide their records – unless they had something to hide? Doug Ford just did that. He rewrote Freedom of Information laws to bury his phone records and 40 years of government documents. As Premier, I will undo this. But right now, I need those records preserved. Especially all the ones related to the ongoing criminal investigation into the Greenbelt Scandal.

Last night Sean Hannity asked Trump about the reported audio recording in which he admits to knowing that the documents he had after leaving the White House were still classified. Trump simply said, "I don't know anything about it. All I know is this, everything I did was right,” and then he went on to accuse Biden of doing worse. Trump also claimed he did nothing wrong and could declassify anything. He said he abided by the Presidential Records act 100%. Fact is though that Trump doesn’t appear to have done everything right. He allegedly had boxes moved after he was subpoenaed for them. He had his attorney sign a declaration saying he turned everything over. He admitted that some of the documents were still classified and admitted he could have issues if he shared the docs. You can’t declassify documents after you leave the WH, and that apparently is now what he’s claiming he did. He also alleged that Biden had 1850 boxes with classified documents in them that he doesn’t want anyone to see. This is a blatant lie. Biden turned all his boxes over to the FBI voluntarily and it wasn’t even close to 1850 boxes with classified docs. It wasn’t even close to 1850 documents. What are your thoughts? Will Trump be charged?

These are the facts. Yesterday, he explicitly stated that declaring a state of emergency doesn’t remove the governor. Today, he’s claiming that the president is in a precarious situation. Watch the entire video until the end. He said expressly no be can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor but Pres.Tinubu did, so why can’t he say Expressly President Tinubu was wrong. He stated boldly no body can declare state of emergency in Nigeria and remove the governor he said if anyone tried it they will fail. So when Tinubu tried it 2 hours why didn’t he say Tinubu is operating an illegal law! He then said the president was pushed to declare state of emergency? Based on his argument yesterday why didn’t he say the president has no powers to declare state of emergency and suspend the governor He then pushes the argument to the National Assembly to decide which is a grand pivot mechanism. I have been in this business for 20 years so I know a pivot. The same 1961 law that he claimed didn’t exist ( he called it an antiquated law/ an illegal law)yesterday is now the same law he claims some lawyers informed him is still active. Before I intervened today, I watched the video multiple times and noticed that the speaker had pivoted. If he adheres to the constitution he quoted the previous day, why can’t he explicitly condemn President Tinubu in the same manner as he condemned Obasanjo in his previous intervention? It’s evident that he’s playing a strategic game. All the other things he said were to prolong the situation and ultimately support President Tinubu while citing the opinions of some lawyers, the same law he discarded the previous day. A gentleman went down to the administration office to get some records, he records to document his process for his own records. When he goes today to get them, the employee refuses to help him because he was recording. She states that as a woman, he doesn’t know what her traumas or triggers are and asks him to stand outside. He refuses of course and she brings the police down which tells her he’s perfectly fine to do so. Was he wrong for recording as a man who does t know a woman’s personal trauma or triggers or should she know the law since she works in a government building?

So here’s the thing. Obama didn’t put on a public display when it came to deporting illegal immigrants. He did it in a way that adhered to the law, with a focus on those that had broken the law after entry. The policy was in his words, "Felons, not families. Criminals, not children. Gang members, not a mom who’s working hard to provide for her kids. We’ll prioritize, just like law enforcement does every day," Guess what? In his last term, he deported more illegal immigrants than Trump. Simple fact and he did without sending the military to the Southern border. Obama’s secret sauce was enforcement discretion and effective targeting of those to be deported. It doesn’t disrupt the workforce and it keeps families together.

Today in #FMQs, Malcolm Offord MSP asked Swinney if he welcomed Lady Ross's ruling on the case brought by the "excellent" FWS & ensure that all the public sector conformed to the law to avoid more suits. He also asked that material from activist groups which was contrary to law be withdrawn & cessation of production of such guidance be a condition of funding. Swinney says he believes in the rule of law & all guidance has to adhere to the law (he neglects to acknowledge that it has not to date).

Doug Ford has a 21% approval rating. So he does what politicians with 21% approval ratings do: He picks fights he cannot win. He pulled US alcohol off Ontario shelves in 2025. He said it was “an irritant.” He was right. It irritated the U.S. into a 50% tariff on Canadian goods (it was cited by the White House as the reason). Ford now claims Canada can “dismantle” the American economy. Canada trades roughly $800 billion with the US every year. The US GDP is more than $28 trillion. Ontario is not dismantling that. Ford is not in a position to be conducting foreign policy. He is not a signatory to any trade agreement. He has no authority over CUSMA. He has no seat at the negotiating table. He is running a symbolic retaliation campaign that provoked a 50% tariff. Then when the tariffs hit us, he demanded Ottawa retaliate. His strategy is to poke the bear. Ford’s polling problem is not Ottawa’s foreign policy problem. Because of him, Canadian exporters are now paying the tariff Ford’s theatre triggered.
